A long time ago the Ghoul Realm barely escaped great peril. A large army of destroyers came from a neighboring universe. The creatures of the Ghoul Realm were no match for the new powerful destroyers. Just when everyone had given up hope, a great fire swept over the Realm, wiping out the destroyers army.
The Ghoul Realm nearly burnt to ashes.
Firebrand, the Red Blaze/Red Destroyer/Red Arremer from Gargoyles Quest. Also a popular boss in Ghosts n Goblins. Back when Capcom was king of the world.
Really now, is there nothing at all better than finding out that they made another game for your favorite series a long time ago and it was on the SNES? And it was actually done great? I guess what I'm trying to say is, fuck 3D. I miss 2D games, they told so much more, not to mention looked fantastic. And better- some of the heavily detailed 2D things would never make it into 3D without huge amounts of work and FPS drag.
I would ask for C&C on this pic, but it's mostly symbolism so logic falls deaf to me.
I couldn't agree more... those 2d graphics were, like, mad. They have this certain quality to them that I've never seen in any 3d game. It was the big clunky pixels, I think... something about that just made it special.
And as for the pic... KICK... ASS.
The proportions seem a bit off in the arms and legs, but like, seriously, that's nothing. The lighting around the head is great, and the eyes and mouth... The wings... how much time did this take?
Gonna support you with a fav on this one.
Nice use of brushes--I wouldn't have picked up on it except that I'd just visited potlan's page. Compression seems like it might be a little high, though...but it does remind of the 2d games.
When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
